What’s up guys? My name’s Robert Rushing with mph club and we’re here with another review. Today, we have something really, really special. That’s not a luxury or exotic car. It’s a custom aftermarket Jeep. And this has a lot of bells and whistles, a lot of aftermarket parts.
We’re going to go for all of them right now and show you what a Jeep rental can do.
We decided to take the Jeep to a place, a little more appropriate to talk about these aftermarket parts and features.
Before we get into that, we want to touch briefly on the update from the JK model to the brand new JL model. Right off the bat, you’re going to notice the turn signals have been moved to the side fenders. There’s also some vents on the side of the fenders and that’s the first dead giveaway. And this is not the JK model.
The JL has a ton of aftermarket parts, though. Right off the bat, you’re going to notice the Kevlar paint job. You’re going to notice the bright light bar. You’re going to notice the custom front bumper, a winch. And you’re going to notice that it’s been lifted three and a half inches. They’re on 37 inch rims right now.
And we’re going to take a look at some of the details. We’re going to show you up close and personal, and then we’re going to take it, show you exactly what a Jeep can do in an environment like this.
Let’s go. So some of the features we just want to show you details of, are the extra added lights, which have been wired in, integrated as your brights.
This is a Smitty XR winch. And this is the hook here to pull yourself. If you ever get stuck. These halo headlights, actually Bluetooth connect to your phone, you can change the color. This as you notice, is not in stock hood. This is a predator hood that’s been crafted and painted in the same matching Kevlar.
And this is what I was talking about earlier with the new JL models. They’ve actually moved the turn signals into the fender. So this is now fully integrated. You can see here, the motor steel 37 inch rims, and we’re sitting on a three and a half inch lift. And those are just some of the mos. You can also notice the giant light bar up here. So it’s ready for any kind of trails. Any kinds of adventures you want to take it on.
Okay guys, if you’re going to take a vehicle, off-roading, there’s a couple of things you need to keep in mind. Number one absolutely is safety. If you don’t have any experience going off-roading or mudding, don’t do it. If you’re going to take our vehicle with experience, off-roading just know that in the center console, this vehicle usually drives in two wheel drive.
There’s a shifter where you can adjust a four wheel drive, high neutral, and four wheel drive low. Now, when you’re in four wheel drive low, you cannot exceed 45 miles per hour. This is for towing vehicles with the most amount of torque. And if you cruise in four-wheel drive low after periods of time, you will overheat the engine.
Four wheel drive high is how you can drive at higher speeds and utilize the Jeep’s actual four wheel drive systems. So with that being said, please always wear your seatbelt. Be safe and have fun on your adventures.
So one of the most fun things to do when driving a Jeep rental is taking the doors and the roof off, and that’s just a really, really great experience. But if you want to learn how to do that for yourself. This is a step-by-step tutorial on how to take the doors and the roof off, and we’re going to do that now.
We’re going to show you how to take the doors off of a Jeep Wrangler. Now it doesn’t need to be the JK or the JL model. Any of the recent models will have similar door hinges, or we’re going to be showing you how to do this using the Jeep provided tool kit. When you purchase a Jeep, it should come with a kit that looks just like this. Inside, you’re going to have a ratchet and we’re going to show you what parts go to what screws now. What’d you want to do first is find the skinny pin and the ratchet, and I’ll show you exactly what to do. So there’s only three things you need to unscrew to take any door off. The first one you’ll find inside the hinge right here.
We’re going to take that off first. Once you take this off the door, Jeep rental has a really handy place, so you don’t lose the screw or the washer and it’s in the back of the car. I’ll show you now. So once you have your screw in your washer, you’re going to come to the back of the car and pull this pull tab. This exposes three places where you can put the screw.
One is conveniently labeled door hinges. So you put the screw in the hole and then you cover the hole and you’re good to go to hit the road. So, that’s the only screw you have to worry about on the inside of the vehicle. On the outside, there’s two. Now a common misunderstanding is these visible screws, here are something that you can actually take out of the car, but you will mess up your paint. These are just for looks, do not try to unscrew these. The two screws you actually have to take out are underneath these brackets. And so, you’re going to need a different piece in the toolkit. This is the piece you’re going to need to use.
Just put this into the ratchet and start screwing underneath the bracket. This is it. There’s two of these per door. So once you unscrew both, we’ll go back to the back of the vehicle and place it in the door hinge spot. You then repeat this for all four doors and that’s all of the screws. However, we still need to unplug it from the electrical system.
The next thing you need to do is close the door a little bit to get some slack on the rope. This rope is attached to this metal bar. So this comes off first, before you try to unplug the electrical cable. Once you lift this, you should be able to press down on the black tab in the center, as you pull down gently on both sides to then release it from the door.
Lastly, the only thing you need to do is lift the door out of the brackets. Before you do that, make sure you have a place to put them. It is a heavier door, especially the front doors are heavier than the back. So make sure you have a place to put them before you lift them out of the door. Make sure you get a good grip.
I like to roll the window down. So the glass is not exposed while the door’s being left and stored somewhere. I like to grab right under the hinge and right here. And that’s it. So to take the roof off the Jeep is actually really easy. There’s really three parts and two of them are upfront. They’re called the freedom panels.
These are here, and they’re really easy to take off. The whole back of the car is one bigger piece. So first we’re going to take off the freedom panels. Step one is dropping down the visor to expose the main clip. You pull this down and that’s step one. Step two, you’ll find three latches. You’ll have to rotate to make sure you’re not caught on the roof.
That’s the only thing you have to do.
It’s a lot easier than it looks, although make sure you have a place to store this stuff.
After you screw all of these off the whole roof piece is removable. Be careful and make sure you have a second person minimum to help you take this off. Three is better, four is best, but you can do it with two people. Uh, just be careful and make sure you have a place to store this.
Okay guys, so now that we took the doors and the roof off, we put on these awesome EAG doors and now it looks incredible. As you can see, it’s not the easiest thing in the world. It doesn’t take too much time. It takes a little bit of sweat. So if you’re renting the scar from mph club, just ask us to do it for you beforehand.
And I hope you enjoy your vehicle. Take it to the beach, it’s going to be a blast,
